Chandra Shekhar Y Head of Supply Chain at GE Aviation

Chandra Shekhar Y. is currently the Head of Supply Chain for GE Aviation, based out of Jack Welch Technology Centre, Bangalore.  In this role, he is responsible for Supply Chain Strategy, Programs, Quality for Europe, Turkey, Middle East and India. He leads the Industrial Cooperation and Make in India strategy for aero-engine
manufacturing and skill development in India.

Prior to joining GE, he was the Head of Sourcing for Regional Sourcing Office for Airbus Group for India and SE Asia.  As part of the Airbus Group’s globalization initiative, he was responsible for increasing the sourcing footprint of Airbus Group’s over half a billion ($ 500 M) from India and increasing the supplier base five-fold and
leading industrial collaboration initiatives with major Indian industrial houses. Before Airbus, he was working for Textron in Strategy & Business development responsible for India & SE Asia region. He has good experience working with cross-functional multi-cultural teams on projects in diverse industries like Aerospace & Defense,
Automotive, Metals and Mining & Aviation Financing. His professional experience spans across, Sourcing, Strategy, Business Development, Consulting & Start-up experience. He is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt in Design, Lean and Variation.

Chandra Shekhar Y. completed his dual degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He has completed his MBA from IIM Bangalore & Toulouse Business School. His hobbies include Reading and playing badminton and tennis.
